Armenian President Armen Sarkissian today met with U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Jordan.

Stressing the importance of U.N. - Armenia cooperation, Sarkissian noted that Armenia is actively integrated in the organization’s work and structures and would like to be more involved in the programs carried out by UNICEF and UNESCO.

Sarkissian, according to an Armenian government press release, praised Guterres for his many years of service on the Calouste Gulbenkian Board of Trustees.

The two then discussed the prospects for greater U.N. – Armenia cooperation.
