Volunteers were out and about throughout Yerevan today planting trees and shrubs as part of a new municipal government drive to make the city just a bit greener.

The project envisages the planting of 7,500 saplings and shrubs in parks and along streets that have irrigation systems.

The municipality, in a press release, says it will install 7.5 kilometers of new irrigation pipes in the city this year.
