Armenian Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan today hosted U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy and discussed plans to continue cooperation on fighting cancer, tuberculosis and HIV.

“HIV and tuberculosis are the greatest health concerns for Eastern Europe. As part of this region, Armenia’s HIV numbers are stable. 90% of those with HIV in Armenia are diagnosed and treated correctly, and of those, 90% are no longer infected,” said Torosyan according to an Armenian government press release.

Ambassador Tracy said the U.S. would continue to assist Armenia in implementing reforms in the health sector.
