
Former Government Investigator Charged with Stealing Jewelry Seized as State's Evidence
Armenia’s Special Investigative Service (SIS) reports that it has charged Garnik Simonyan, who served as an investigator at the Kentron and Nork-Marash branches of the Investigative Committee from 2014-2017, with stealing AMD 6.5 million($13,700) worth of jewelry that had been seized as evidence in three separate cases and then covering up the theft.
The case has been sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
