United States to Cut Aid to Armenia by 18%

Armenia is slated to receive $35.843 million in U.S. assistance in fiscal year 2013, a cut of some 18% from the U.S. administration’s 2012 request of $43.450 million.

Military parity between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be maintained according to the 2013 budget released by the Obama Admistration today.

As was the case in FY 2012, the Administration did not specifically note funding levels for Nagorno Karabakh. However, Congress has routinely provided assistance to Nagorno Karabakh with last year's final bill calling for funding "at levels consistent with prior years."
