Armenia Elected Member of World Health Organization's Standing Committee
Armenia has been elected a member of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Standing Committee for the next three years.
Armenian Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan will represent Armenia in the committee.
According to the Ministry of Health, seven countries, including Armenia, applied for the WHO Standing Committee.
The election of the Director of the WHO European Region was also held, with 6 countries submitting applications for nomination: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia.
Belgium's Hans Kluge was elected Director of the WHO European Region.
