On September 19, a delegation headed by Lebanese Minister of National Defense Elias Bou Saab arrived in Yerevan on an official visit, this according to an Armenian government press release.

Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan met with Lebanese National Defense Minister Elias Bou Saab on September 20, following an official welcoming ceremony at the Defense Ministry's administrative complex.

Welcoming Minister Saab, David Tonoyan noted that there is a high level of multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Lebanon, and that the friendly relations between the two peoples obligate the two nations to develop defense cooperation.

Armenian Defense Minister stressed the importance of the ratification of an agreement on military cooperation signed in Beirut in November, which will provide new opportunities for cooperation in the military and military-technical fields.

Elias Bou Saab thanked Tonyan for the warm welcome and highlighted the development of multilateral cooperation to strengthen the defense capacity of the two countries.

The Lebanese Defense Minister has initiated the creation of committees supporting the development of cooperation between the two countries, which will include not only defense, but also cultural, tourism, economic and other officials.
