Iranian Energy Minister in Armenia to Attend Conference
Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan today hosted Iranian Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian, who arrived in Armenia to participate in a conference entitled "Transit Potential of the Eurasian Continent".
Welcoming Minister Ardakanian, Papikyan noted that as the head of the department, which includes the main package of cooperation between the two countries, he is personally interested in deepening the centuries-old Armenian-Iranian friendly relations and positive traditions established in different spheres.
"Armenia and Iran are successfully cooperating within the framework of energy infrastructure and development programs. Nevertheless, we have set the level of bilateral economic contacts in line with the high level of political dialogue between the states," Minister Papikyan said according to an Armenian government press release.
Iranian Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian noted that it is an honor for him to be in Armenia once again and discuss the prospects of cooperation with his colleague.
"The ICT ministry summarizes the most important areas of Armenian-Iranian strategic cooperation, which enables us to develop the existing relations and move them to a new qualitative level," said Minister Ardakanian.
