Armenian President Meets with Members of Japan's Armenian Community

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian today, in Tokyo, met with members of the tiny Armenian community of Japan.

President Sarkissian, escorted by his wife Nuneh Sarkissian, is in Japan on a working visit.

Sarkissian, according to an Armenian government press release, wanted to know what attracted them to Japan and what they were doing there.

The Armenian president then briefed the community members on his talks with Japanese government and corporate officials, focusing on cooperation possibilities.

Sarkissian pointed to the following sectors in this regard: cutting-edge technologies, emergency matters, trade deals, food exports and security.

"We also have a lot to learn from them in the field of public service, because the discipline and dedication these people have is really a delight," President Sargsyan said.

Noting that Armenia’s greatest national wealth is people, the President said: “We must make the best use of this resource. We have great people, fantastic people who have achieved great success in different areas of the world, and it's time to use their potential.”
