The Armenian government today allocated AMD 271 million (US$568,000) for sixteen continuous days of events in Yerevan celebrating New years and Christmas.

The holiday tree in Yerevan’s Republic Square will be officially lit on December 21, launching the festive celebrations that include the installation of a “fairytale city” in the square and a Christmas Market in Yerevan 2,750th Anniversary Park.

The main event will be a concert featuring world-renowned Bosnian recording artist Goran Bregović and his orchestra on New Year’s Eve in Republic Square.
