Greece’s New Ambassador Presents Credentials to President Sarkissian
Evangelos Tournakis, Greece’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia, yesterday presented his diplomatic credentials to Armenian President Armen Sarkissian.
President Sarkissian congratulated the newly appointed ambassador and wished him success in executing his diplomatic mission.
“The friendship of our two peoples is millennia-long, we have maintained strong cultural and historical ties for centuries,” Sarkissian said according to a government press release.
Ambassador Tournakis noted that he is glad to represent his country in Armenia, which Greece regards as a friendly country, and is ready to contribute his experience and knowledge to a further deepening of bilateral relations.
At the meeting, the parties spoke about the importance of developing cooperation of the two friendly states in all areas, and noted in particular that great potential for cooperation exists in the areas of science, education, technologies, and tourism.
