Armenian FM and Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Russian Federation’s Federal Council Meet in Yerevan

On December 18, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Konstantin Kosachev, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Russian Federation’s Federal Council and Ruben Rubinyan, Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations. Information and public relations department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.

Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, according to an Armenian government press release,  highly appreciated the active dialogue at different levels of Armenian-Russian allied relations and readiness of two sides to take practical steps towards further expanding and enriching existing cooperation on different platforms.

In this context, both sides emphasized the importance of the full use of the parliamentary platform`s potential as a component of the bilateral agenda.

The sides highlighted the tradition of reciprocal support and trust between Armenia and Russia on international parliamentary platforms and reiterated the mutual willingness to continue close cooperation.

At the request of the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, Minister Mnatsakanyan presented the latest developments on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.

Both sides emphasized that there is no alternative to a peaceful settlement of the conflict and any settlement should be acceptable to the peoples of all parties of the conflict.
