Armenian Red Cross Society to Invest AMD 163 Million in Gyumri Nursing Home
Armenia’s Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Armenian Red Cross Society have signed an agreement by which the Armenian Red Cross Society will assume the daily care of the residents of Gyumri nursing home.
“I am happy for this new opportunity to partner with the Armenian Red Cross Society since years of experience have shown us that the company is a trusted partner, providing social protection services to those most in need. Today we are launching a new phase of collaboration in the field of aged care services, which is important not only in the sense that professional support will be provided by a company with years of experience in the field, but also because this can create a competitive opportunity in the field by enhancing the quality of services,” Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan said at today’s signing.
Per the memo, the Red Cross Society is committed to investing at least AMD 163 million ($341,000) to improve the quality of service and living conditions, as well as to renew employment contracts with at least 70% of home-based employees.
In-kind investments for 160 care givers will comprise some 8.5 million drams.
"Out of the 192 states where the Red Cross operates, we try to do everything possible to support people who need help and attention. Thank you for this trust. I can assure you that we will build on our years of experience in providing dignified services to our fathers and mothers living in the Gyumri nursing home,” said Red Cross Society President Mkhitar Mnatsakanyan.
