Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, as part of his year-end wrap up meetings with political party representatives, today met with Im Kayl (My Step) parliamentary faction head Lilit Makunts and several faction MPS.

Sarkissian also met with the members of the Bright Armenia faction a few days ago, and a meeting with representatives of the Prosperous Armenia faction is expected soon.

Sarkissian and the Im Kayl MPs are said to have discussed deepening and institutionalizing the cooperation between the presidential and parliamentary institutions, this according to an Armenian government press release.  

The parties agreed that such a format would promote harmonious and effective cooperation. They also touched upon the activities of the faction and its legislative activity.

Sarkissian told the MPs about several international events taking place in Armenia next year at his initiative. These include the Armenian Summit of Ideas, the 6^th STARMUS Festival, as well as the ATOM (Advanced Tomorrow) Initiative for Scientific and Technological Development.

Sarkissian attached importance to the active involvement of the parliament in all these initiatives.
