Armenia: Government Backs Amendments to Improve Psychiatric Care
The Armenian government today approved a series of legislative amendments that, according to Armenian Minister of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan, will vastly improve the care provided to those with mental health care issues in the country.
Torosyan told government officials at today’s cabinet session that the amendments would, for the first time, prescribe the procedures and conditions for the use of physical restraint, isolation and sedation methods regarding state provided psychiatric care.
Torosyan said the legislative amendments would help protect the rights of those receiving psychiatric care.
