A criminal investigation has been launched regarding yesterday’s death of three Armenian Army conscript soldiers who died in a snowslide while on duty at a Syunik military outpost.

Another soldier was reported injured in the avalanche.

Armenia’s Investigative Committee reports that Article 376 of the Criminal Code (Negligence by a commander or official) has been cited as a basis for the investigation.

No one, as yet, has been indicted.
