A delegation headed by Armenian Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan yesterday, in Brussels, attended a session of the defense ministers of nations providing troops to the NATO Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan.

During the meeting, the defense ministers of the participating countries reaffirmed their countries' commitment to promoting lasting security and stability in Afghanistan.

Talks on reducing violence in Afghanistan between the United States and the Taliban were also discussed.

 It was agreed that NATO would continue to provide training, assistance and consulting support to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces. Afghan Defense Minister Asadullah Khalid thanked the ministers for their continued support and told them about the successes achieved so far.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg presented the meeting’s main findings to reporters.
