Armenian Foreign Minister, Arab League Secretary-General Discuss Expanding Cooperation
Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, now in Germany as part of the Armenian delegation headed by PM Nikol Pashinyan attending the Munich Security Conference, met with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The two sides, according to a statement released by Mnatsakanyan’s ministry, assessed the effective cooperation between Armenia and the Arab League and exchanged views on the prospects of further strengthening it.
Mnatsakanyan emphasized that Armenia greatly values the expansion of Armenian-Arab relations based on historical and cultural ties and reiterated Armenia’s commitment to take steps to promote mutually beneficial cooperation with the Arab League member states.
Mnatsakanyan and Aboul Gheit touched upon a wide range of urgent international and regional issues, including current developments in the Middle East and the humanitarian situation in Syria.
Mnatsakanyan stressed that Armenia pays attention to the humanitarian situation in Syria and the challenges faced by the Armenian community there.
He said that Armenian is ready to continue its contribution in the humanitarian field mission.
