Artur Baghdasaryan Dismissed as Armenia's Chief of Military Police

Artur Baghdasaryan has been dismissed as Chief of Armenia’s Military Police.

An Armenian government press release doesn’t go into sepecifics as to why Baghdasaryan was dismissed, only stating it was based on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recommendation.

The dismissal might be linked to a February 17 meeting, chaired by Pashinyan, regarding the continuing non-combat deaths in the armed forces of Armenia and Artsakh.

At the meeting, Pashinyan said his government will remain focused on maintaining discipline in the army and weeding out all aspects of criminal subculture.
