A delegation led by Armenian National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan today, in Copenhagen, met with Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament (Folketing) Bertel Haarder, Chairperson of the European Affairs Committee Eva Kjer Hansen and MPs of the Foreign Policy Committee.

At the request of the Danish MPs, the Armenian delegation members gave an overview of the reforms started in Armenia and the achievements recorded after the 2018 “Velvet Revolution”.

The Danish MPs promised to assist Armenia in strengthening democratic reforms.

Armenia’s foreign policy and regional issues were also discussed, this according to a statement released by Mirzoyan’s office.  

Mirzoyan then gave the Danish MPs an update on the Karabakh conflict negotiation process of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, reaffirming Armenia’s commitment to a peaceful resolution.

A wide scope of regional security matters was broached, including the lack of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey.
