Armenian Defense Minister Instructs Military Police to Bolster Army Discipline

Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan met with military police officials today to discuss the ongoing deaths of soldiers and explore possible preventative measures.

Tonoyan kicked off the meeting by saying goodbye to Artur Baghdasaryan, the recently dismissed chief of the military police, temporarily replacing him by Baghdasaryan’s deputy, Colonel Aleksandr Aghajanyan.

The defense minister then, according to a government press release, dismissed several department heads. No names were given.

Tonoyan instructed Military Police staff and Colonel Alexander Aghajanyan to take immediate steps to  bolster  discipline in the armed forces and improve the quality of investigations.
