Coronavirus Scare: Armenia Monitoring All Trucks and Drivers from Iran
Armenian Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan, in a Facebook post today, says that all necessary measures are being taken to monitor all trucks and their drivers crossing from Iran into Armenia at the Meghri border crossing.
It would thus appear that Armenia has not suspended all land traffic with Iran given the spread of the coronavirus in that neighboring country.
Torosyan writes that the trucks are “being escorted” through Armenia by the police and that their Iranian drivers are being medically monitored as well.
Torosyan says he dispatched a medical specialist from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention to Tehran to personally monitor passengers before they depart on a flight to Yerevan.
