Armenia: First Coronavirus Case Spurs Cancellation of March 1 Commemoration

The Armenian government has cancelled today's march in memory of the victims of the March 1-2, 2008 post-election protests in Yerevan.

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan cancelled the annual march after an Armenian citizen who returned to Yerevan by plane from Tehran on February 28 tested positive for the coronavirus.

Pashinyan, in a Facebook post, writes that the man who tested positive for the virus did not hail a cab from Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport, as had previously been suspected.

The man's wife, who returned from Tehran with him, tested negtaive for the virus.
