Armenian National Assembly Speaker Meets with Serbian President in Belgrade

A delegation headed by Armenian National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan, now in Serbia on an official visit, today, in Belgrade, met with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić

Vučić, according to a statement released by Mirzoyan’s office, welcomed the delegation and expressed confidence that this visit would be a new impetus for the Armenian-Serbian relations.

Mirzoyan noted the historical ties that link the two countries and said that  the visa-free regime between the two countries would facilitate increased mutual tourist visits.

The parties exchanged information on the situation in the two regions.

Referring to the Artsakh issue, Mirzoyan noted that the only guarantee for the physical security of the Armenian population living there is the right to self-determination.

He reiterated that the Armenian side sees the solution of the problem only through peaceful negotiations within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and calls on its partners to support this format and the principles adopted.
