Armenian President and Head of Food Safety Inspectorate Discuss Need for Increased Monitoring
Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and Georgi Avetisyan, who heads the country’s Food Safety Inspectorate met today in Yerevan and discussed the need to ramp up monitoring and improve hygienic conditions in restaurants and food processing establishments given the global spread of the new coronavirus.
Considering food safety in Armenia a priority, Sarkissian said the country should serve as a regional hub for food safety and would continue to discuss the issue with the heads of government and specialized international organizations.
