Coronavirus Fallout: Armenian Parliament Speaker Urges MPs to Work Online

Armenian National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan has called on MPs to limit their interactions with people and to conduct their legislative work online in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus into the halls of the parliament.

Mirzoyan, in a Facebook post today, also called on MPs, who have officially travelled within the past two weeks or who might have encountered individuals with a high risk of infection, to self-isolate.

Mirzoyan said that MPs who need to take care of kindergarten or elementary school age children will be allowed to be absent from work for a reasonable amount of time every day.

The government today decided to close all schools and universities in the country until March 23.
