
COVID-19 Fallout: Armenia Shuts Border to Citizens of 16 Countries
Armenia has banned the entry of citizens from the following sixteen countries according to a statement released today by Armenian Deputy PM Tigran Avinyan.
The countries are China, Iran, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, United Kingdom.
Avinyan, who has been appointed to head Armenia’s State of Emergency Commission, writes that Armenian citizens from the above countries will be allowed to return but must undergo fourteen days of quarantine.
Avinyan adds that the drivers transporting cargo from these countries will not be banned if they do not manifest symptoms of the coronavirus.
He writes that Armenian citizens returning from anywhere else overseas should self-isolate for fourteen days and contact the coronavirus hotline (060-838300) if infection symptoms arise.
