Religious Group Takes Iravunk Newspaper to Court

The Armenian branch of the International Word of Life Church has launched a 50 page suit against the Iravunk newspaper published by the Constitutional Rights Union, a conservative political party in Armenia.

Commenting on the law suit, the CRU says that the religious group and its leader Artur Simonyan seem bent on declaring Armenia as a safe haven for religious sects rather than arguing that it’s been libeled.

The trial gets underway on March 13.
