Pashinyan Adviser Says He Resigned Over Mishandling of Civil Aviation Sector

While the government today issued a statement that Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan has dismissed Hakob Tchagharyan as his adviser, Tchagharyan says he actually quit.

Tchagharyan, in a Facebook post today, says he resigned from the post to protest the government’s “destructive and anti-state” approach to civil aviation in Armenia.

Tchagharyan writes that he submitted a report to PM Nikol Pashinyan on April 4, outlining the crisis in the civil aviation sector and the steps needed to resolve it.

The former adviser says he called on Pashinyan to let him join a team of professionals ready and capable to take on the challenge on a volunteer basis.

“Otherwise, I will resign,” Tchagharyan’s Facebook post reads.

Tchagharyan was appointed a prime ministerial adviser in March 2019.
