
Armenian Parliament Gives Final Approval to Bill Banning Single-Use Plastic Bags
Armenia’s National Parliament today approved a bill, in the second and final reading, a bill to ban single-use plastic bags as of January 1, 2022.
115 MPs voted in favor of the bill. There was one abstention.
Bags up to 50 microns thick will be banned from use in stores and other businesses.
Sacks used for wrapping large items and bags produced from secondary raw materials will be exempted.
The parliament passed the bill in the first reading on March 25.
