Shushan Petrosyan - "I'd like to be the first hippie MP"
Shushan Petrosyan, a popular singer in Armenia, told the press that she would jump at the chance to run for a parliament seat in the upcoming May elections.
“I’d be the first hippie MP and would break many stereotypes,” she said, adding that she’d like to see a parliament where literary Armenian is spoken and issues are really debated.
Petrosyan says she’s ready to tackle the responsibility of being an MP and would use the forum to defend Armenian national music.
She said that she would welcome the opportunity to run on the ticket of the ruling Republican Party and that she’s planning to campaign for them.
Petrosyan added that she will not appear at events when and where directed, but would perform for certain party candidates as she deemed appropriate.
