$50 Million Project to Modernize Armenia's Irrigation Network
The Territorial Development Fund of Armenia’s Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure reports that it is implementing a $50 million irrigation system modernization program.
$40 million is a loan from the Eurasian Development Bank, with $10 million in co-financed by the Armenian government.
The main goals of the project are to build mechanical irrigation systems to replace gravity-fed systems, to reconstruct principal and inter-farm canals, intra-farm irrigation systems, and to modernize and to strengthen water user companies.
