Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Berge Setrakian today, by telephone, discussed the problems faced by the Lebanese-Armenian community in the aftermath of Tuesday’s explosion in Beirut.

Sarkissian and Setrakian spoke about the consequences of the explosion, focusing on the human and material losses suffered by the Armenian community of Lebanon, this according to a statement released by Sarkissian’s office.

The two stressed the importance of implementing coordinated assistance programs by the state as well as by the national and church bodies.
