
Armenia: More Livestock Abbatoirs On the Way
Georgy Avetisyan, who heads Armenia’s Food Safety Inspectorate (FSI), was on hand at today’s opening of a new livestock slaughterhouse in the Ararat Province community of Baghramyan.
The FSI reports that the Armaks facility can process twenty large cattle per day.
FSI Deputy Head Artur Shatvoryan and Ararat Provincial Governor Garik Sargsyan attended the opening as well.
Armenia now has 59 abattoirs, of which two are mobile.
Fifteen more are under construction and close to completion.
