Armenian President Invites IAEA Head to Armenia for "Summit of Minds"
Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has invited International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi to Armenia to participate in the "Summit of Minds" event scheduled for October 10-11 this year.
Noting that the 2020 summit will be dedicated to geopolitics, energy and artificial intelligence, President Armen Sarkissian expressed hope that the IAEA Director General will contribute to the success of the conference.
In a statement released by his office, Sarkissian noted that energy, in general, and nuclear energy, in particular, are among his special interests, noting that he was the first chairman of the World Economic Forum in Davos, and often spoke about the role of energy in the modern world.
Regarding the ATOM (Advanced Tomorrow) presidential initiative, Sarkissian noted that it is aimed at the development of science, technology, artificial intelligence, especially in the field of nuclear energy.
Sarkissian said this ambitious program has aroused great interest among international technology giant companies, and preliminary cooperation agreements will be signed with many soon.
