New Armenian Environment Minister Visits Khosrov Forest Museum
Newly appointed Armenian Minister of the Environment Romanos Petrosyan today visited the Khosrov Forest State Reserve SNOC’s museum in the town of Vedi (Ararat Province).
Petrosyan is now on a working tour of the reserve.
The ministry also reports that inspections conducted by the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspectorate have uncovered 25 violations amounting to 21.8 million AMD in damage to the environment
The Inspectorate also issued nearly 1 million AMD in fines based on thirteen previously registered violations.
The Khosrov Forest State Reserve SNCO (state non-commercial organization) is composed of the Khosrov Forest State Reserve and the Khor Virap and Goravan Sands Sanctuaries.
The Khosrov Forest State Reserve was established in 1958 and measures 23,878 hectares.
