Armenian Parliament Speaker Congratulates People of Artsakh on 29th Independence Anniversary

Armenian National Assembly President Ararat Mirzoyan today sent a congratulatory message to his Artsakh counterpart Artur Tovmasyan on Artsakh Republic Day. On September 2, 1991, a joint session of the Nagorno Karabakh Regional Council and the Council of People’s Deputies of Shahumyan Region was held in Stepanakert, where the Declaration of Independence was adopted. On December 10 of the same year a referendum was held to confirm Artsakh’s independence.

Mirzoyan’s message to Tovmasyan, in part, reads:

On behalf of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and myself, I extend my warm congratulations and best wishes to you and all the Armenians of Artsakh on the Independence Day of the Artsakh Republic.

It is with open pride that I follow the rapid process of reforms and development in Artsakh, which, of course, does not escape the attention of the international community.

Mirzoyan is now in Artsakh on a working visit.
