Artsakh Parliament Calls on Russia and Iran to Establish Joint Regional Anti-Terrorism Coalition

The Artsakh National Assembly today issued the following statement calling on the Russia and Iran to establish a joint regional anti-terrorism task force.

It is well-known that the Baku authorities, on the explicit order of Turkey, launched another large-scale aggression against the Artsakh Republic on September 27, resuming active hostilities, during which international terrorists, representatives of various extremist groups from Syria, Iraq and Libya and elsewhere, entered the region with Turkish support.

This fact is confirmed not only by authoritative international organizations and the media, but also by various officials of a number of countries, including Russia, France, Iran, Syria.

It is obvious that international terrorism, taking advantage of the near-sighted and short-term policy of the Baku authorities, after the major defeat in Syria and with Turkish assistance, is trying to establish itself in the region, turning it into a new terrorist center, which is a direct threat not only to Artsakh but to its immediate vicinity, and the security and territorial integrity of the states of Armenia, Russia, Iran by creating new zones of instability in the region

The authorities in Turkey and Baku, obsessed with destroying Artsakh at all costs, do not realize that bringing terrorists to this region, sponsoring them, assisting them in establishing appropriate bases, creating appropriate conditions for their activities, threaten Artsakh in the short-term and, in the long-term, pose a global threat to regional states, to international security, and to the civilian population of Azerbaijan.

The National Assembly of the Artsakh Republic, stressing the importance of regional peace, security, and beneficial cooperation between the states of the region, and the fight against international terrorism, calls on the authorities of Armenia, Russia and Iran to:

* Condemn the use by Azerbaijan of international terrorist groups and their representatives in military aggression against Artsakh

* Establish a joint Counter-Terrorism Coordination Center for international terrorists who have infiltrated the region, locate them, locate their military bases, and develop joint neutralization programs.

* Establish a joint Anti-Terrorism Coalition to physically and effectively neutralize the terrorists and their groups that have infiltrated the region.
