Armenian Security Service Warns Facebook Users About Dangers of Karabakh Frontline Info Posts
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) today issued a statement warning social network users not to reply to posts requesting information about developments along the Artsakh-Azerbaijan frontline and tactical specifics.
The NSS cites the example of a Facebook user called Vahe Petrosyan who introduces himself as a religious preacher. In one of his live broadcasts he requests that people send him "testimonies" about soldiers on the front line and how they were saved by the grace of God.
The NSS stresses that in a state of war, any information about the front line, rear positions, the movement of troops, crowds, as well as any information that at first glance seems insignificant, cannot be passed on to other persons, since such information can be used directly or indirectly in ways detrimental to the security of the Artsakh Republic.
The NSS urges the population to be vigilant and refrain from spreading information about the frontline during social media contacts.
