A slander case that was pending at a Yerevan court pitting Arabkir Real Estate Cadastre Deputy Director Aram Chadinyan against Aravot photo-journalist Gagig Shamshyan never made it beyond the preliminary trial phase.

Last week, Chadinyan withdrew his suit.

The plaintiff had sued over an article that appeared in the August 24, 2011 edition of the paper regarding the detention of his brother.
