The Armenian National Assembly’s ruling My Step (Im Kayl) faction, aligned with Nikol Pashinyan, issued the following statement today on whether there is a need to convene a special parliamentary session to discuss the recently concluded war in Artsakh and the events in Armenia following the signing of the November 10 ceasefire statement.

Bowing our heads before the glorious memory of the soldiers, volunteers and people who took part in the Artsakh war,

Sharing the grief of the victims' families, friends and relatives with deep sorrow,

Taking into account the internal political events following the hostilities in Armenia and Artsakh and the ceasefire.

The My Step faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia announces:

- The current analysis of hostilities shows that the Armenian people have fought together against not only Azerbaijan, but also one of the world's largest armed forces, an army with state-of-the-art weapons and unlimited human resources, mercenary terrorists and special forces recruited from different countries.

- During the forty-five-day war, special heroism was registered along the entire frontline, thanks to which it was possible to prevent the enemy’s genocidal crime unleashed against the Armenians,

- The entire pan-Armenian resources took part in the rear-line support of the army in the hostilities,

- We note that the hostilities coincided with major geopolitical developments due to security challenges, which thwarted all international efforts to establish a ceasefire, including the repeated attempts of the three OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.

- Accepting the conditions announced in the current historical and political situation was the only way to avoid the complete loss of Artsakh and thousands of human casualties.

The My Step faction is sure that the public should get the answers to all the questions that concern it. At the same time, the faction is not going to take part in any session aimed at destabilizing Armenia and endangering the frontline of the war and the people who hold it.

At the same time, before discussing the legitimacy of the well-known statement on ending the Karabakh war, we suggest that the opposition state very clearly to all Armenians and the world that they:

• Are in favor of canceling the Russian mediation
• Support the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the line of contact
• They are in favor of continuing the war

After making this statement, the opposition forces are also obliged to present the proposed roadmap for victory in the resumed war.
