Former Armenian Defense Minister Calls for Pashinyan's Resignation

Former Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan has joined the chorus of past government officials calling for the resignation of Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan.

In a Facebook post today, Ohanyan, who served as Armenian Defense Minister from April 2008 to October 2016, charged Pashinyan with not fulfilling his constitutional duties, governmental incompetence, and pursuing anti-Armenian policies that plunged the country into a destructive war.

He wrote that Pashinyan, whilst having a viable army, led Armenia to defeat.

"If this government does not leave, with its leader immediately, the independence of the Republic of Armenia, the inviolability of its borders, and the physical existence of the population are endangered," Ohanyan wrote.

Ohanyan, a Shushi native, served as Artsakh Defense Minister from 1999 to 2007.
