Armenian Economy Minister and Iranian Ambassador Discuss Increasing Trade, Joint Ventures

Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan and Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri met today in Yerevan and discussed prospects for greater trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Zohouri noted that great potential exists in the spheres of plant breeding, animal husbandry and fish farming.

Ambassador Zohouri also stressed the need to strengthen business ties via trade exhibitions and video conference calls.

The sides also touched upon the prospects of cooperation between Meghri and the Iranian "Araz" free economic zones, as well as the establishment of joint ventures.

Noting that membership in the Eurasian Economic Union opens wide opportunities for Armenia, the Iranian ambassador expressed confidence that the establishment of Armenian-Iranian joint ventures will not only contribute to the development of the two countries' economies but will also increase exports to the EEU countries.
