Pashinyan Meets with Minsk Group Co-Chairs; Calls for Resumption of Karabakh Negotiations
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan told visiting Minsk Group Co-Chairs today in Yerevan that it is necessary to resume talks within the framework of the Minsk Group in order to achieve a comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Attending today’s meeting were OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Stéphane Visconti (France), Andrew Schofer (USA), Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Embassy in Armenia Alexei Sinegubov and OSCE Chairman-in-Office Personal Representative Andrzej Kasprzyk.
Pashinyan said that any settlement must be based on the right of Artsakh Armenians to self-determination, the de-occupation of the territories occupied by Azerbaijan, the provision of conditions for safe return of Artsakh Armenians to their homes, and the preservation of Armenian religious and cultural heritage in the region.
Pashinyan, according to a statement released by his office, condemned the December 11 and Azerbaijani violations of the ceasefire agreement along the Artsakh-Azerbaijani line of contact.
