Armenian Economy Minister, U.S. Ambassador Discuss Economic Cooperation
Armenian Minister of Economy and a delegation led by U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy met in Yerevan today and discussed prospects for economic cooperation between the two countries.
The parties, according to a statement released by the ministry, discussed the work of the Trade and Investment Council, stressing the importance of cooperation and discussion in the trade/investment sector, the WTO, Technical Barriers to Trade (TBTs), Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS), Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), trade diplomacy, high technology, well as the organization of business meetings with the participation of public and private sector representatives.
Issues related to the availability of payment platforms (PayPal services) in Armenia, venture funds and the development of the capital market in Armenia were also discussed.
They also discussed USAID-funded programs, particularly in the fields of tourism, rural economic development, market liberalization, science, innovative agriculture, and business promotion.
