Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan and Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri met today in Yerevan and discussed regional security issues following the recent Karabakh war and the need to intensify Armenian-Iranian cooperation in the development of regional strategic infrastructure.

The parties, according to a statement released by Grigoryan’s office, reaffirmed their readiness to continue effective cooperation in several sectors including security, the economy and the sciences.

 Both officials stressed the unique role of Armenia’s North-South highway in the development of Armenian-Iranian trade and economic relations.
