Former Armenian Defense Minister Says Pashinyan Government Incapable of Resolving POW Issue
Former Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, in a letter addressed to Armenian Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, writes that the current Pashinyan government is incapable of securing the return of Armenian POWs now held in Azerbaijan.
“As a military-political figure who is at the core of the formation of Artsakh and the statehood of Armenia and the army, and who today is deeply concerned about the process of release and return of the Armenian captives, I sincerely do not believe that you or any member of this government can contribute to the solution of any issue concerning our state and its reputation in the international arena in favor of Armenia,” Ohanyan writes.
Describing Pashinyan’s administration as a “defeated government”, Ohanyan says it cannot defend the interests of Armenian POWs on the international arena.
“How can the representative of this government talk about prisoners of war when it has not made any effort in international forums to strongly condemn Azerbaijan for unleashing the 2020 44-day war?” Ohanyan writes.
