Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan today received newly appointed Swedish Ambassador to Armenia Patrik Svensson and Swedish Deputy Ambassador for Development Cooperation Izabella Eriksson.

Minister Arshakyan greeted Ambassador Svensson and wished him success, adding that Armenia appreciates Swedish humanitarian assistance to Armenia following last year’s Artsakh war.

Arshakyan referred to the agreement on the development of cooperation between Sweden and Armenia signed in November 2019 with the participation of Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Director General of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) Carin Jämtin.

Arshakyan suggested that Ambassador Svensson discuss the idea of ​​opening branches in Armenia with Swedish companies and the possibility of establishing a Tumo Creative Technology Center in Stockholm, as well as the localization of other successful technological educational programs there.

Ambassador Svensson, who was appointed last September, praised the growth in Armenia’s high-tech sector. He stressed that they will be happy to share their experience, not only in terms of creating a favorable environment for the development of companies, but also in terms of education, science and ensuring their connection with business.
