Armenian Health Minister, U.S. Ambassador Discuss Coronavirus
Armenian Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan and U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy met today in Armenia and discussed the challenges confronting the healthcare system in Armenia.
Avanesyan, according to a statement released by her office, told Tracy that the country’s healthcare system has overcome all the problems it faced due to the coronavirus and the recent war in Artsakh.
Responding to a question posed by Tracy regarding Armenia’s plan to acquire the coronavirus vaccine, Avanesyan said that the government is currently negotiating to purchase the vaccine and is exploring all options.
Avanesyan said that given the stable coronavirus situation, the healthcare system can now focus on other matters such as maternal and child health.
