Azerbaijani Media Launch Attacks Against Armenian Human Rights Defender
The Armenian Human Rights Defender's (HRD) Office reports that the Azerbaijani media have launched attacks against Arman Tatoyan, Armenia’s Human Rights Defender.
The HRD’s office says the attacks include personal insults and threats, as well as calls to oust Tatoyan from his office.
Azerbaijani MPs are participating in the attacks, according to a statement released by the HRD’s office.
Tatoyan is also said to have received threats via personal correspondence.
These attacks relate to Tatoyan’s statements on human rights violations in the process of determining the borders of the Republic of Armenia, the appearance of Azerbaijani soldiers (flags and signs) in the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia and Azerbaijani provocations against civilians.
Tatoyan’s statements are openly falsified, says the HRD’s office.
